Coastal climate services: user needs from multiple case studies being identified within the INSeaPTION project The user workshop in the Maldives was organized in close cooperation with the Climate Change Department of the Ministry for Environment and Energy. A team from the Global Climate Forum (Germany) and the University of Utrecht (The Netherlands) met with multiple stakeholders from the national government, local communities, academia and oceanographers, to start the process of co-developing coastal climate services for the Maldives.

The User Board met to guide future developments of the Clim2Power web-service in a day of project presentations and facilitated discussions. AXIS: Call open now! AXIS announces the launch of a Joint Transnational Call for proposals on 9 of April 2018. It will be supported by at least 10 funding organisations from 9 European countries and co-funded by the European Commission.

JPI Climate hosts its first Scoping Forum Symposium in Paris The first JPI Climate Scoping Forum Symposium took place at the French National Institute for Agricultural Research (INRA), in Paris, on 26-27 March 2018. Under the thematic header “Science for the implementation of the Paris Agreement”, the objective of this Symposium was to guide JPI Climate in its future operations.

SINCERE kick-off in Bologna On 7-8 March took place the kick-off meeting of our new project focusing on Strengthening INternational Cooperation on climatE change Research (SINCERE) that bring together 20 European Research performing and funding organisations over the next four years. With a regional focus on Africa and Latin America two of partners could be engaged from those regions: the African Academy of Science as well as the Argentinian Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation.
