ClimINVEST workshop on translating physical climate hazards into financial impacts For the last two years financial institutions and climate change specialists have worked together in the framework of the ClimINVEST project to provide transparency on methodologies for physical climate risk assessment and develop guidance tools that inform investors’ risk management processes. Results of this collaboration were presented and discussed with around 50 investors and other representatives from the financial sector in Paris 28 November 2019.

The central cornerstone of the CLISWELN project The project has recently published its central deliverable "Ten principles to integrate the water-energy-land nexus with climate services for co-producing local and regional integrated assessments" It is the first-of-its-kind guidance on combining climate services with the water-energy-land nexus giving a new definition of the nexus based on networks and complexity science and providing a set of 10 guiding principles for local to regional cross-sectoral integrated assessment.

Workshop on Regional Sea Level and Climate Services in Orléans, France The Workshop on Regional Sea Level and Climate Services was organised on 12-13 November 2019 at BRGM (French Geological Survey) in Orléans, France, followed by the 4th Session of the WCRP Grand Challenge on Regional Sea Level Change and Coastal Impacts on 14-15 November. This involved presentations and support from two ERA4CS projects: INSeaPTION and ECLISEA.

ClimINVEST: Engaging with the financial sector on physical climate risk Financial institutions are underestimating their exposure to physical climate risks stressed ClimINVEST partners at a conference co-organized by I4CE – Institute for Climate Economics (ClimINVEST) and the French public investment bank Caisse des Dépôts et consignations (CDC) in Paris in April where the first results of the ClimINVEST project were discussed.

Full house at SENSES stakeholder workshop in Stockholm In May 21-22, 2019 the SENSES consortium conducted their third co-production workshop with stakeholders from policy, business and finance. The aim was to co-develop the SENSES toolkit which helps users of varying background to gain access to the new generation of climate change scenarios: climate change projections, climate impact projections, and mitigation scenarios.
