AQUACLEW partner exchanges with experts on hydropower management in Québec, Canada INRAE, French partner in the AQUACLEW project, visited Université Laval in Québec (Canada) for two weeks, from 6 to 24 February 2020, to foster collaboration on the management of water reservoirs and optimization of hydropower production.

AQUACLEW Workshop for students on climate services The University of Cordoba, a partner of the AQUACLEW project, gave a workshop for students from the University of Granada on climate services (CS) in December. This workshop is part of an experiment carried out across Europe (Germany, Austria, France and Spain), in which engineering students in bachelor and master programmes (agronomic, civil, forestry, geotechnical, hydraulic) act as potential CS users with a similar background knowledge.

COP25 Side Event “Connecting scientific knowledge to implement the Paris Agreement. The value of trust in international research cooperation” The JPI Climate side event held on 12 December in Italian Pavilion at 6-8 pm in Madrid, Spain gathered around 40 participants among the COP25 attendants. A welcome speech was given by Italian Minister of Research and Education, Sergio Costa, who emphasized the importance of reliable climate information and translated to specific needs for action.

Webinar training session on Ecological Niche Modelling On November 8th, CoCliME project participants gathered online for an internal webinar training session on Ecological Niche Modelling (a.k.a. habitat suitability modelling). A goal of CoCliME is to produce climate services related to harmful algal blooms by using existing data and knowledge about the blooms to predict their occurrences and bloom intensity in a changing climate.

Workshop on quantitative polymerase chain reaction From 21st - 25th October 2019, a training workshop organised by CoCliME project focused on an important climate service tool, QPCR (quantitative polymerase chain reaction) was held at the Alfred Wegener Institute, Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research in Bremerhaven, Germany.

JPI Climate E-magazine We are happy to announce that the JPI Climate e-magazine is available now. This E-magazine is the result of the work developed by the JPI Climate project "Strengthening INternational Cooperation on climatE change REsearch" (SINCERE), in close collaboration with the coordinators from the research projects, and has the intention to increase the societal impact of these projects, by disseminating their results and achievements in ways that are understandable to lay audiences.
