Workshop on Concepts, definitions and analysis tools regarding Carbon Neutrality and Balancing Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Removal will take place on Wednesday 10 January in Brussels, 231 Avenue Louise.
JPI Climate will organize a series of three workshops (only by invitations) that are designed to explore different aspects of the “Balance” and identify areas where further work may be required. This workshop will explore the background to the Paris Agreement text and its interpretations. It would look at key concepts of balance including carbon neutrality and negative emissions in a theoretical manner rather than explore practical issues. Current approaches to modelling of low emissions scenarios linked from RCPs to integrated assessment models and policy constructs such as emissions “baskets” and achievement of carbon neutrality and negative emissions based on model analysis would be explored.
