Climate change presents a wide range of serious risks for business. At the same time, it also provides an array of opportunities for companies, large and small, to drive forward innovative and successful adaptation products and services.
ECCA 2017 will therefore for the first time include a separate and tailor-made business and innovation programme. This mirrors earlier initiatives such as the COP21 Sustainable Innovation Forum in 2015, or the Climate Innovation Summit 2016, which recognize the increasing importance and need for the business sector in developing and delivering climate ready solutions, as well as the urgency of adapting businesses to a changing climate.
On Tuesday 6th June 2017, The ECCA Business Day will provide a unique setting to learn about what it takes to prepare business for a changing climate. At the same time, it will also present a great opportunity for meeting and networking with more than 1,000 expected delegates at the entire ECCA conference, including like-minded professionals, clients, top scientists and renowned practitioners from a variety of fields including urban planners, land managers, local and national government officials, engineers, architects, water and other utility companies, technical consultancies, academic researchers and NGOs.
On Wednesday 7th June 2017, The ECCA Innovation Day will create opportunities for business, from micro- to multi-nationals to join with researchers, students and other groups in tackling the adaptation challenges of cities and local governments. Through an open innovation process and via a pitching stage, innovators will highlight how their cutting-edge solutions can tackle current and future adaptation needs.
